...of your choice from whatever manufacturer you choose. Whatever make, model, trim. That’s your only car, and it’s the only one you’ll ever have. Of course there’s a catch.
Whichever manufacturer you choose is going to update your car every three years. I don’t mean there’s a new model, I mean they take your car and upgrade it...maybe it’s a new engine, new transmission, new color or body style. You have no say in what the upgrade contains, and you won’t know what it contains until you get the car back. If you pass on the upgrade, you never get another, and your car stays as it is forever.
So Oppo, the question is twofold. Which car do you want to start with, and which manufacturer do you trust to supply you with something you’ll want to drive? Explain yourself below!
*Thunderbolt’s Question of the Day, since I don't presume to be the actual QOTD.

Can I choose something that may not be offered in the country I live in, but is made by a company that sells here?

Ohhhhh. so it can be 2 different manufacturers?

I’d take a McLaren Super Series; McLaren makes huge advancements every year, and I’m sure that every upgrade they perform will make the car better than it was last time.
(I say the Super Series because you could start with either a 12C or 650S)

Tesla Model S P90D. If there’s one car company I trust to actually care about its customers, it’s Tesla.

Hmmm, this is a tough one. But I’m going to assume I will need a truck at some point in my life. And looking at the manufacturers, I think Ford has the most going right currently, so if I had to pick one vehicle, I’ll got with a Raptor.
My second choice would have been the Chevrolet SS, in the hopes that I would never need a truck.

A Morgan Aero 8. Morgan’s idea of an upgrade is probably switching from a generator to an alternator, so I think I’m safe from all the tech nonsense I don’t want in a car.

Porsche 911 Turbo (just plain Turbo). I know the updates will always be an improvement (regardless of how crazy they sound). My imaginary spouse will have the more practical vehicle for the and dogs and kids, and I can always rent a truck whenever needed.

I’m going to assume the answer to my question is yes.
No upgrades. It’s an LS3, it should be reliable as anything and I can mod the fuck out of it. I have a truck if I need it and a car the rest of the time. Gas mileage is a non-issue. Since I didn’t have to pay for the car, if gas triples in price I’ve still got 130000km free before it comes out of my pocket. If I need more seats I can bolt some down in the bed. Riding in the bed IS technically legal here, so with seats it’s even less of an issue.

Tesla, whatever their latest and greatest is. They seem pretty savvy about upgrades, and life of the car is my only concern, but if they are going to fiddle with it every 3 years I’d say it’d be a joy!

I was thinking about Morgan too. But if they are doing upgrades they will likely last several years as the queue for new models is really long too.
I’ll take a 911 GT3 as they tend to stay very similar after upgrades.

I wouldn't trust Bentley with this assignment as far as I could throw one of their vehicles. You'd get back a car they built for Justin Bieber and have to live with a gold chrome Mulsanne with purple interior for the next three years.

I think I’d probably buy a full size GM SUV
I’ll say the GMC Yukon. They don’t normally screw up the Yukon.

You anticipated correctly, I’d have gone ‘yes’ on your question. Nice call on the Ute...with Holden being a batshit crazy Aussie company, you can bet that each upgrade is just going to be more power or crazier colors. I approve of this answer.

Exactly the sort of outside the box thinking I like. Maybe they'll upgrade your frame from ash to alder or something crazy like that, but you're still not getting bluetooth.

Audi R8. I was going to say some Avant with RS in front of it, but I’m not sure that a 400 HP demon wagon is the only car I want to be stuck with for my entire life. The R8 is the livable supercar, and I trust that Audi knows what they are doing with the upgrades.

Hear me out. The Volt can be a fun drive and this is arguably the best looking incarnation of it. GM tech is actually really good, the batteries last far longer than other hybrids/EVs and with the improvements over time, this car will only get better. EV with a range extender, three years on you get an upgraded battery, more powerful motor three years later, so on and so forth. I can’t see any downsides to it.

I’d take my current car, a 3-series wagon. I’ve liked every 3 series so far, and I like the current gen, so, yeah.
Or, a Tacoma.

I assume then that you won't be taking any of the upgrade packages? If so you'd be starting with a stock Supra, which isn't the worst thing in the world.

Subaru seems like a sound choice. You know you're getting AWD and a turbo no matter what else they do to it.
